
ABOUT US
The CforSee was inaugurated on 7th April, the World Health Day, 2009 by the Former Vice-Chancellor of Kumoun University, Professor Kailash Chandra Joshi. The Centre is dedicated for the Educational Programmes, Training, Research and Development through Motivation, Sensitization and Empowerment of people towards vision for all.
The centre is a supporting arm for Eye Care and Research Centre (ECRC).
INITIATIVES
I-MEP
The Initiative for Mountain Eye-Care Promotion (MEP) is based on the promotion of Eye Care Information to the masses, particularly in the mountain region of the world. A scientific eye care lecture series among the high schools and intermediate colleges in the region. 51 lectures are targeted in this year up to April, 2010.
I-SES
The Initiative for Students Eye Screening (SES) is initiated April, 2009.Students aged 10 to 15 years/studying in classes 6th to 8th has been identified for the visual ailments in the school premises and those have problems, shall be referred to the Eye Care and Research Centre for further detail Eye Examination along with their Guardian. Those will be required the optical aids, all belongs to BPL will get 100% discount. More Than 25 schools have been screened and a total 51 has been targeted this year.
I-MEC
Initiatives for Memorial EYE CARE CAMPS are organized on demand by the Centre at the deferent location, particularly, in mountain areas, where appropriate eye care is scarce. Presently, the Centre is providing such facility within the radius of 50 kms.
Nominations are open for those people who has a will to organize such camps in memory of there departed nears and dears.
LCSC
The Low Cost Spectacles Centre (LCSC) initiative was initiated on the occasion of World Sight Day, 2009 to provide the equal access of optical care for all, particularly, women of mountain rural, tribal and hilly areas. For the Initiative any students, having science background and willing to serve the rural people and want to stay there will be trained in a nominal registration fee to provide optical and primary eye care services at the rural based LCSC. CforSee has targeted to start 10 such Centers during the year 2010.
VISION VOULTEERS
The vision volunteer are selected from the deferent Schools/Colleges of the region from where CforSee Consultants visits and at the spot give for filling up a questionnaire from Students of these Schools/Colleges. They are than selected and are trained by CforSee for promoting Scientific Eye Care among the Students of their respective Schools.
Presently there are five such Vision Volunteer are working.
